As I sit here contemplating my journey in the world of photography, my mind drifts back to my roots in Okinawa, Japan. Born in a land steeped in tradition and beauty, I was surrounded by nature's wonders from a young age. I realized the profound parallels I see between my own growth as a photographer and the deeper meaning behind my Japanese middle name "hitomi." which means "pupil of the eye," a term that also signifies wisdom and insight.

But it was not until I moved to Southern California that my love and passion for photography truly blossomed. The golden sunsets over the Pacific Coast Highway, the hustle and bustle of living the city life in Los Angeles for many years, and the diverse cultures that intermingled in this melting pot of a state all called out to me, begging to be captured through the lens of my camera.

Over time, my photography evolved from a hobby into a passion, a form of self-expression through which I could convey the emotions and stories that resonated within me. As I honed my craft and learned to see the world through a more discerning eye, I realized that photography was not just about capturing moments, but about capturing the essence of life itself. Over the years I've had the privilege of photographing people from all walks of life and industries and it never ceases to amaze me how a single image can speak volumes about a person's character.
